Mike Ornella, from the Jacksonville District work in the USACE Emergency Operations Center in support of deployed personnel in response to Hurricane Ian. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has received FEMA Mission Assignments (MAs) for Regional Activation and Temporary Emergency Power in response to Hurricane Ian. Under these MAs we have deployed a Temporary Emergency Power Planning and Response Team, Soldiers from the 249th Engineer Battalion, team leaders and assistant team leaders, as well as subject matter experts in logistics, temporary power, infrastructure assessment and debris.
