The building site for P695 Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit New River undergoes construction on Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) New River, North Carolina, Sept. 22, 2022. Buildings around Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and MCAS New River are currently under construction due to damage sustained during Hurricane Florence. Four years ago, the Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Lejeune area experienced the wettest tropical cyclone on record in the Carolinas. Today, $3.6 billion in new construction and repairs are flourishing across the base and air stations with a heavy emphasis on ensuring the new infrastructure is able to withstand future weather events.
