U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Samuel Johnson, a scout sniper with Battalion Landing Team 2/5, 31 Marine Expeditionary Unit surveys the area out of a SH-60 Sea Hawk during an aerial live fire exercise in the Philippine Sea, Sept. 20, 2022. The scout snipers conducted the live fire to hone their skills and maintain proficiency in any environment. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the Tripoli ARG in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
