The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Deployable Tactical Operating System (DTOS) communications units or Engineer Command and Control Vehicle from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Mobile District ECCV7 was pre-staged in Puerto Rico for rapid emergency response during Hurricane Season. The Deployable Tactical Operations System (DTOS) is a coordination of both teams and equipment put together to provide critical communications in the event of significant man-made or natural disasters in the United States, the District of Columbia, and the territories of the United States. Its mobility allows the Emergency Management team to quickly integrate engineer assets with local, federal and state authorities to ensure that USACE has a smooth integrated response to any natural disaster. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has received FEMA Mission Assignments (MAs) for Regional Activation and Temporary Emergency Power in response to Hurricane Fiona. Under these MAs we have deployed a Temporary Emergency Power Planning and Response Team, Soldiers from the 249th Engineer Battalion, team leaders and assistant team leaders, as well as subject matter experts in logistics, temporary power, infrastructure assessment and debris.
