U.S. Marines assigned to the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit stand in formation aboard Amphibious Assault Ship USS Tripoli (LHA-7), in the Philippine Sea, Sept. 6, 2022. Sgt. Preston Sutherland, an air framer assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262 (Rein.), 31st MEU, was awarded a plaque for his continued dedication and enduring commitment to his work and to the training of his unit. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of Amphibious Assault Ship USS Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
