PHILIPPINE SEA (Sept. 2, 2022) Cmdr. Joseph McGettigan, commanding officer of Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Higgins (DDG 76), launches an Aerosonde unmanned aerial vehicle from a turntable launch and recovery system aboard the ship’s flight deck while conducting routine operations in the Philippine Sea, Sept. 2. Higgins is assigned to Commander, Task Force 71/Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s largest forward-deployed DESRON and the U.S. 7th fleet’s principal surface force.
