    Senior staff members from the Office of the Secretary of Defense and Installation Management Command visited Fort Wainwright, Alaska, Aug. 30-Sept. 1 to see critical quality of life programs and projects firsthand. The visit included overviews and discussion of multiple projects in U.S. Army Pacific Commanding General Gen. Charles A. Flynn’s emphasis on “all things Alaska.” The group visited the installation’s central heat and electric plant, ongoing construction of a child development center and aquatics center, post gates and visitor center, historic Hangar 1, the oldest and newest barracks, the dining facility, and sites of future projects.
