Trainees assigned to 2nd Battalion, 13th Infantry Regiment, conduct Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear operations as part of their mandatory training to graduate Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, S.C. Pvt. Julia Ayala volunteered to become a Soldier and performed this training in honor of her brother who suffers a variety of medical conditions that prevent him from being able to enlist in any branch of service.
