Rudder, commander, U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific, enters an AH-1Z Viper from Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 369, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, for his final flight at Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton, California, Aug. 25, 2022. The flight marked a significant occasion for Rudder, who is retiring after 38 years of service from the world's most elite fighting force. Since 2020, Rudder has commanded two-thirds of the Marine Corps’ operating forces committed to preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region. Rudder is a native of Canton, Connecticut.
