U.S. Navy Boatswain's Mate 1st Class David Guerra, the leading petty officer for USS New Orleans' (LPD 18) 1st Division, Deck Department,. and Navy Lt. j.g. Jeffery Kramer, a surface warfare officer, converse with Ariel Jimenaz, a helmsman assigned to USS Miguel Keith (ESB 5) during a Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure exercise, Philippine Sea, Aug. 7, 2022. This group of Sailors are designated at the prize crew, who commandeer the ship after the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit's Maritime Raid Force has cleared it. The 31st MEU is operating aboard the ships of the Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific Region.
