Sgt. 1st Class James Johnson, noncommissioned officer in charge of the Defense Cyber Operations Element, monitors the networks and cyber systems for the Oklahoma National Guard at Joint Force Headquarters in Oklahoma City, Aug. 10 2022. Johnson was part of the Oklahoma National Guard’s Defensive Cyber Operations Element that placed first in Netwars during Cyber Shield 2022. Cyber Shield is the Department of Defense’s largest unclassified cyber defense exercise involving approximately 800 National Guard cyber specialists as well as law enforcement, legal, government and corporate partners from across the country.
