Engineers and project managers from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Transatlantic Expeditionary District, evaluate the surface of the airfield aprons and construction progress at Camp Buehring, Kuwait, May 8, 2022. The intense heat of Kuwaiti summers beating down on airfield aprons require consistent preventative repairs. Here the surface is being milled to evaluate the level of damage and in preparation for repaving. Later this section will receive new asphalt and the project will move to other areas, leaving two of the airfield aprons serviceable at all times to ensure operational readiness for aviation units.
