Col. Elba Villacorta, Public Health Command-Pacific Commander, and Sgt. Elizabeth Currie RIMPAC food protection non-commissioned officer in charge assigned to Public Health Activity-Hawaii, discuss RIMPAC food safety and preparation procedures with members of the U.S. Navy food preparation team during a facility tour aboard the USS Hopper (DDG 70). Public Health Activity-Hawaii Soldiers are responsible for ensuring food safety and food defense of all food products consumed by U.S. personnel during the exercise.
The 28th iteration of RIMPAC will include twenty-six nations, 38 surface ships, four submarines, nine national land forces, more than 170 aircraft, and approximately 25,000 personnel scheduled this month in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California.
