A Soldier from the Nebraska Army National Guard's Wahoo-based 623rd Engineer Company talks with his counterpart from the Rwanda Defense Force Engineering Brigade while participating in a medical/engineering exercise in Gako, Rwanda, March 16, 2022. The two Soldiers were among a group assigned to construct a base camp according to United Nations statndards during a three-week exercise as part of the National Guard's State Partnership Program. Although the two organizations have been official partners since December 2019, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this marked the first time that engineers from the two organizations have been able to work physically together in several years.
