U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Andrew Irrera, a signals intelligence officer assigned to Task Force 61/2, recites the oath of office during a promotion ceremony in Naples, Italy, July 1, 2022. Irrera is a native of Wilmington, North Carolina and commissioned through the Marine Corps Platoon Leadership Course program. TF-61/2 provides command and control amphibious and expeditionary capabilities on an experimental basis within the U.S. European Command (EUCOM) and U.S. Africa Command’s (AFRICOM) area of operations (AOO) to protect U.S. interests, reassure Allies and Partners, and enable integrated deterrence of adversaries.
