U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Adam Carver, a landing support specialist with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, goes over the mission plan with CH-53E Super Stallion pilots with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262 (Reinforced), 31st MEU, for helicopter support training at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, June 29, 2022. The HST enables the setup of an expedient landing zone for aircraft, and are able to secure equipment such as JLTV’s for pickup. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premiere crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
