Maj. Gen. John B. Richardson IV, 1st Cavalry Division commanding general and Command Sgt. Maj. Shade S. Munday, 1st Cavalry Division command sergeant major, along with Rosalyn Rubin, Robert Huntley and Deborah Kessler, family of Cpl. Tibor Rubin, render honors to the flag during a ceremony honoring the transfer or Cpl. Tibor Rubin’s Medal of Honor to the 1st Cavalry Division Jun. 23 on Fort Hood, Texas. Rubin, who was assigned to 3rd Battalion 8th Cavalry Regiment, was awarded the Medal of Honor for his extraordinary heroism during the period from July 23, 1950 to April 20, 1953. He is the only Holocaust survivor to receive the Congressional Medal of Honor.
