Israa Al-Khatib, preparing to answer telephone calls from COVID-19 patients in Amman, Jordan, in July 2021. Israa is one of 200 nurses who have been trained and hired, with support from USAID, to work in a specialized COVID-19 call center in Jordan. The nurses provide advice to patients with mild cases of the virus who are recovering at home and they also follow up with COVID-19 vaccine recipients.
