Using hand signals, Jim Young, kneeling, directs the crane operator to lower a stoplog onto a storage area while Chris Lane, holding rope, and Curt White align it. Stoplogs are steel bulkheads used to hold back water during maintenance. The Corps of Engineers removed the stoplogs and opened the MacArthur Lock today after seasonal maintenance and an extended repair.
