The test rig used to complete a recent flow characterization study at the National Full-Scale Aerodynamics Complex (NFAC) in Moffett Field, Calif., can be seen in the 40-foot by 80-foot test section of the facility. The rig is comprised of a multi-probe array that evenly distributes more than two dozen sensors through the primary area of interest in the tunnel cross section. During the multi-phased effort, updates were made to the existing flow calibration and characterization in the tunnel. The rig was designed and built by personnel at Arnold Air Force Base, Tennessee, headquarters of Arnold Engineering Development Complex. NFAC is an operating location of the 716th Test Squadron, 804th Test Group, AEDC. (U.S. Air Force photo)
