U.S. Marine Corps veteran Staff Sgt. Jilliane Conley, left, speaks to recruiters, poolees, and applicants during the first Operation Semper Fi Center of Influence event held by Recruiting Station Baton Rouge in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, April 30, 2022. During the event, veterans were able to observe a drill instructor demonstration and speak to the young men and women preparing to earn the title, U.S. Marine. The purpose of the event was to grow the relationship between the recruiting station and local veterans, and to boost their esprit de corps by reminding them of the quality and standards held by the Marine Corps. Conley was born in Salem, Oregon, her hometown was Albany, Georgia, and she is now a Louisiana resident. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt. Danielle Prentice)
