Spc. Juan Garcia, right, a resident of Santa Barbara, Calif., and main wench operator with Company B, 1st Battalion, 143rd Field Artillery, is in the process of bringing the giant Rapid Aerostat Initial Deployment balloon down to 50 feet for a periodic check. Assisting him is Spc. Uriel Torres, RAID operator, for Co. B, 1st Bn., 143rd FA, and California National Guardsman from Fresno, Calif. Garcia is a personal banker when not deployed and a field artillery specialist by training. "It's different, but I like it," said Garcia.
