Jermaine Brooms, from Chicago, the commanding officer of Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Dewey (DDG 105), congratulates Ensign Krystal Francis, from Augusta, Georgia, on becoming a Surface Warfare Officer during a pinning ceremony in the ship’s wardroom. Dewey is assigned to Commander, Task Force 71/Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s largest forward-deployed DESRON and the U.S. 7th fleet’s principal surface force.
