A pile of French munitions blows smoke, dirt and rock high above the treetops at one of the ranges on Camp Bondsteel, Oct. 10. Detonated from a remote point, soldiers from the 217th Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company, California National Guard, helped the French forces destroy the munitions. Sgt Valeriy P. Didychenko, an EOD technician from Helendale Calif., said "It is an exciting job. It is never the same; there is always something unique. Danger is always out there, adrenaline always pumping."
