On May 13, 2022, a ceremonial cake-cutting celebration took place on Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune’s Quarterdeck where leadership and staff honored the hard work, commitment and sacrifices of Navy Nurses here and around the world, past and present.
In keeping with Navy tradition, the cake was cut by the most senior and junior nurses in the command: Captain Alison Castro, with 27-years experience, and Ensign Brook Sahlmariam, with one-year experience in the Navy Nurse Corps.
