PACIFIC OCEAN (April 15, 2022) - Fire Controlman 3rd Class Nathaniel Harmon, left and Fire Controlman 2nd Class Wesley Vandenbrandon assemble an erector set man-platform for the aft Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM) launcher aboard amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8), April 15. Fire Controlmen are responsible for ensuring safe handling, transport and installation of missile equipment. Makin Island is underway conducting routine operations in U.S. 3rd Fleet.
