Airmen and Soldiers of the Nebraska National Guard gather for a group photo after wrapping up support to local authorities battling a wildfire in Furnas and Gosper counties in south central Nebraska April 8-12, 2022. High winds and drought conditions allowed fire to quickly spread and burn more than 30,000 acres before it was contained by combined efforts of 40 volunteer departments and the National Guard providing aerial and ground firefighting assets and personnel. The joint team working fire lines on the ground included firefighters from the Nebraska Air National Guard's 155th Air Refueling Wing based in Lincoln and the Nebraska Army National Guard's 281st, 317th, 617th and 755th (HQ) firefighting teams based in Hastings, Norfolk and Columbus.
