BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (April 6, 2022) – Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley delivers opening remarks for the Caribbean Nations Security Conference April 6, 2022 in Bridgetown, Barbados. CANSEC 22 brought together leaders from partner nations around the Caribbean region and other allied nations to discuss security cooperation issues ranging from climate change to countering transnational criminal organizations to natural disaster response April 5-7, 2022. Barbados was the first Regional Security country to host CANSEC almost two decades ago when the region’s defense leaders met in Bridgetown for the regional security conference in 2004.
