JUNEAU, Alaska (March 10, 2022) An Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 1 TALON robot approaches a propane truck to investigate an inert training device while supporting the Juneau Police Department (JPD) in a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VBIED) drill at the Alaska State Capitol in Juneau, Alaska, March 10, 2022. EODMU-1 and the JPD used the training as an opportunity to exchange best practices and build interagency cooperation. EODMU-1 is in Juneau supporting Exercise ARCTIC EDGE 2022 (AE22), which is a biennial defensive exercise for U.S. Northern Command and Canadian Armed Forces designed to demonstrate and exercise our ability to rapidly deploy and operate in the Arctic.
