220322-N-UN585-1117 MEDITERRANEAN SEA (March 22, 2022) Damage Controlman 2nd Class Don Donley, assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Ross (DDG 71), turns on negative ventilation for an engineering space after simulating flushing it with halon during a main space fire drill while the ship is underway in the Mediterranean Sea, March 22. Ross, forward-deployed to Rota, Spain, is on its 12th patrol in the U.S. Sixth Fleet area of operations in support of regional allies and partners and U.S. national security interests in Europe and Africa.
