Then Lt. Thomas Rew dressed in his U.S. Army Air Corps uniform shortly after graduating a cadet training program for pilots. Rew served as a bomber pilot and commander throughout his military career. Since retiring, he has settled in the Columbia, SC, area and can be frequently found at Fort Jackson’s Perez Fitness Center playing racquetball. (Courtesy photo)
