As Womack Army Medical Center (WAMC) prepares for its March 19, 2022 deployment of MHS GENESIS--the new electronic healthcare record--providers and staff are conducting a ‘Mock Go-Live’ training event from February 28 through March 11, 2022.
For this training event, MHS GENESIS trainers worked with clinicians and providers to walk them through the new system and answer any questions.
“The purpose of the Mock Go-Live event is to increase the MHS GENESIS knowledge base in targeted areas as needed, and reduce common challenges encountered from Go-Lives in the past.,” according to LTC Monique E. Grinnell, chief of Hospital Education and Staff Development. “End users complete clinical scenarios together as a team, and as such, the event is an opportunity to emphasize important design features, experience built-in efficiencies of the system, and share helpful tips.”
MHS GENESIS is expected to provide Department of Defense beneficiaries with enhanced, secure technology to manage beneficiaries' health information. It also integrates inpatient and outpatient solutions that will connect medical and dental information across the continuum of care, from point of injury to the military medical treatment facility.
