U.S. Marine Corps 1st. Lt. Michelle Traub, a combat engineer officer with 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, attends the opening ceremony for a new classroom during Exercise Cobra Gold 2022 at the Wat Khlong Takian School, Chanthaburi, Kingdom of Thailand, Mar. 2, 2022. Marines from the 9th ESB, alongside the Singapore Armed Forces and the Royal Thai Marine Corps, built a new classroom during the exercise for the Wat Khlong Takian School, a primary school in the Khao Khitchakut District. Traub served as the officer in charge of the 9th ESB Marines who helped build the school.
CG 22 is the 41st iteration of the international training exercise that supports readiness and emphasizes coordination on civic action, humanitarian assistance, and disaster relief. From Feb. 22 through March 4, 2022, this annual event taking place at various locations throughout the Kingdom of Thailand increases the capability, capacity, and interoperability of partnered nations while simultaneously reinforcing commitments to a free and open Indo-Pacific.
