220217-N-EJ843-1001 A Sailor uses a mobile phone to scan a “Quick Response” (QR) Code on the back of a barrack’s door at Naval Submarine Base (SUBASE) New London. A recent initiative at the base, the QR Code opens an application allowing barracks residents to more easily report a room maintenance or facility maintenance issue and barracks’ managers to more easily seek to resolve such issues, effectively and efficiently. The success at SUBASE New London has resulted in a Commander Navy Region Mid-Atlantic QR Code pilot program at Naval Station Newport in Rhode Island and Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Virginia.
