U.S. Marine Corps SSgt. Christopher Medberry, a platoon sergeant with Battalion Landing Team 1/5, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), loads a joint light tactical vehicle onto a landing craft, utility (LCU) after a motorized raid on Kin Blue training area, Okinawa, Japan, Jan. 31, 2022. The motorized raid was conducted to test the capabilities of rapidly going from sea to shore all the while simultaneously conducting a raid throughout the night. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of the America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners, and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
