U.S Army Pacific Commanding General, Gen. Charles A. Flynn, gives his opening remarks on Jan. 10 during the USARPAC Training and Exercise and Security Cooperation Working Group
at Fort Shafter, Hawaii. The UTREX and SCWG is a two-week-long conference held in-person and virtually attended by HQDA, USINDOPACOM, USARPAC Staff, FORSCOM, Major Subordinate Commands and others to synchronize operations, exercises and training events, review requirements and finalize unit sourcing for execution years FY 23 and 24. The SCWG serves to standardize, synchronize and prioritize land component security cooperation operations, activities and investments for FY23. The UTREX and SCWG provided a venue for commanders to address their shared commitment to training and preparing the force, reinforce trust and deepen ties with Allies and Partners to foster a free and open Indo-Pacific.
