Gen. Glen VanHerck, Commander, North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command, and Sgt. Maj. James Porterfield, NORAD and USNORTHCOM Command Senior Enlisted Leader, led discussions with U.S. Army War College students – U.S., German, Canadian, and British military officers, and a member from the U.S. Agency for International Development – Dec. 17, 2021, at the commands’ headquarters on Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado. These current andfuture leaders in the Advanced Strategic Leadership Studies Program met with the general and sergeant major to gain insightinto the commands’ missions and critical roles in support of today’s security environment, focusing on homeland defense, global integration, and strategic planning.
