Joan Leary, First Lady of Lighthouse Church of Copperas Coves, hands a donated stuffed animal to a student during a toy drive event at House Creek Elementary in Copperas Cove, Texas on Dec. 17, 2021. The Texas State Guard and Lighthouse Church of Copperas Cove partnered to distribute toys to the students. Since 2009, the Texas State Guard has distributed over 500,000 donated toys through the "Young Heroes of the Guard" Toy Drive. Toys are distributed to children's hospitals, schools, daycares, shelter, and non-profit organizations for children throughout Texas.
