    U.S. Marines with 2nd Battalion, 7th Marines and soldiers with the Japan Ground Self-defense Force load onto a CH-53E Super Stallion and an MV-22 Osprey from Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing during Resolute Dragon 21, on Ojojihara Proving Grounds, Dec. 9, 2021. RD21 is the largest-ever bilateral field training exercise between the U.S. Marine Corps and the JSDF. RD21 is designed to strengthen the defensive capabilities of the U.S.-Japan Alliance by exercising integrated command and control, targeting, combined arms, and maneuver across multiple domains. 2/7 is forward deployed in the Indo-Pacific under 4th Marines, 3d Marine Division.
