Spc. Justin Gooden, a 92G Culinary Specialist with the 35th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion (CSSB) is currently supporting exercise Yama Sakura 81 by preparing and serving meals for all units partaking at Camp Itami.
He hails from Clearwater, Florida, and has been stationed at Camp Zama, Japan, for 3 years now. Spc. Gooden’s favorite part about the exercise so far is the comradery it has brought to him, his peers, and his NCO’s as they traveled from Camp Zama to Camp Itami.
Spc. Gooden would like to wish everyone back in the U.S. a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Yama Sakura 81 is the largest U.S.-Japan bilateral and joint command post exercise which enables participants to work as dedicated partners in support of the U.S.-Japan security alliance and for continued peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific. This year’s exercise commemorates the 40th anniversary of Yama Sakura.
