U.S. Marines with Charlie Company, 2nd Reconnaissance Batallion, 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, fast rope onto USNS Leroy Grumman (T-AO-195) to execute a visit, board, search and seizure, Dec. 7, 2021. Amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3), the flagship for the 22nd MEU and Amphibious Squadron (PHIBRON) Six, is underway for Amphibious Ready Group/MEU Exercise (AMX) in preparation for a future deployment. AMX is the second at-sea period in the MEU's Predeployment Training Program; it aims to test the capabilities of the ARG/MEU team in a realistic paced threat environment.
