The Coast Guard Cutter Joseph Doyle interdicted a grossly overloaded makeshift boat during an illegal voyage that was transporting 62 persons, Dominican Republic Nationals, in Atlantic Ocean waters north of Puerto Rico Dec. 4, 2021. All 62 persons were repatriated a to the Dominican Republic between Dec. 6 and Dec. 7, 2021. This interdiction is the result of Coast Guard and Caribbean Border Interagency group partner ongoing partner agency efforts to deter and stop illegal migration voyages in the Eastern Caribbean.
