Howard Hall, an infantryman with the California Army National Guard, runs back to his rifle during a nine-minute match in which shooters cover 1,000 meters running back and forth from their firing position to a target 25 meters away to fire 20 rounds from a carbine, one round at a time. Thirty-three sniper teams are gathered at the Fort Chaffee Joint Maneuver Training Center, Barling, Arkansas, to participate in the 51st Winston P. Wilson and 31st Armed Forces Skill at Arms Meeting Sniper Rifle Matches hosted by the National Guard Marksmanship Training Center Dec. 4-9.
