Senior Airman Ashley Ripka, 8th Medical Group ambulatory services technician, uses a land mobile radio at Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea, Nov. 17, 2021. U.S. service members, ranging from E-1 to E-4, have a direct impact on the mission while being stationed at Kunsan Air Base, making them ready to fight tonight. Ambulatory service technicians work two-person 24-hour shifts, while responding to in-flight and ground emergencies with other first responders, such as 8th Security Forces Squadron defenders and 8th Civil Engineer Squadron firefighters; and perform COVID-19 nasopharyngeal test swabs for military and civilian personnel.
