211119-N-TY650-1001 PHILIPPINE SEA (Nov. 19, 2021) Sailors load ordnance onto an EA-18A Growler, assigned to the “Gauntlets” of Electronic Attack Squadron (VAW) 136, on the flight deck of Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) Nov. 19, 2021. U.S. forces with 1st Marine Aircraft Wing and the U.S. Navy’s 7th Fleet are conducting a large-scale joint rehearsal of tactics and simulated strikes on naval targets off the coast of Okinawa, Japan. Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability through alliances and partnerships while serving as a ready-response force in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
