    ANNAPOLIS, Md. (Sept. 18, 2021) Vice Admiral Ricky Williamson, Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Fleet Readiness and Logistics, Chief of Staff of the French Navy Adm. Pierre Vandier, Midshipman 1st Class (senior) Benoit Gorgemans, and Midshipman 1st Class (senior) Lerouge Anatole lay the wreath at the French Monument which honors the French soldiers and sailors who were buried on the shores of College Creek during the Revolutionary War. This marks the 240th anniversary of the French naval victory over a British fleet that took place outside the Chesapeake Bay during the American Revolution.
