Rear Admiral Johnston honors Shane Morrison at U.S. Coast Guard Station Fairport with the Silver Lifesaving Medal on Aug. 31, 2021, for saving the life of Donovan Conwell in June of 2020. Conwell was swimming in Fairport Harbor when a rip current started carrying him out into Lake Erie; Morrison jumped in and kept him above water until the station's small boat crew was able to get on scene.
