U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, 627th Hospital Center, Fort Carson, Colorado, and Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, along with a registered respiratory therapist at Kootenai Health prepare to prone position an ICU COVID patient at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Oct. 28, 2021. ICU COVID patients are placed on their stomachs to improve overall lung oxygenation. Soldiers assigned to the medical and hospital center are deployed from Colorado, Texas, and Washington, in support of the continued Department of Defense COVID response operations to help communities in need. U.S. Northern Command, through U.S. Army North, remains committed to providing flexible Department of Defense support to the whole-of-government COVID response.
