Blue Ridge Sailors Conduct Non-lethal Weapon Sustainment

YOKOSUKA, Japan (Oct. 28, 2021) - Master-at-Arms 1st Class Maurice Peterson, from Fort Washington, Md., sprays a Sailor with inert oleoresin capsicum spray on the flight deck of U.S 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19) during non-lethal weapon sustainment (NLWS) training Oct. 28, 2021. NLWS consists of reviewing the proper use of batons, takedowns and strikes necessary to maintain security reaction force qualifications. Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy and, as 7th Fleet command ship, actively works to foster relationships with allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
