A funeral caisson carries the remains of 1st Lt. James E. Wright one mile in a procession from the Lumber Bridge Baptist Church to the Oakdale Cemetery in Lumber Bridge, North Carolina on Oct. 12, 2021. Wright, who had served with the NCNG’s 120th Infantry Regiment and grew up in Lumber Bridge, was killed in action in the vicinity of Dornot, France on Sept. 10, 1944.
